Member, Osun State Assembly, Honourable Tunde Olatunji has stated the readiness of his colleagues to support the #NotTooYoungToRun bill.

The Ife North Representative stated this in Osogbo shortly after delivering a lecture at the National Open University of Nigeria, Osogbo study center.

He revealed that all the bills that need the passage by the state assemblies have been received by the Osun Sate House of Assembly and works will soon commence on them.

He said “I support removing the constitutional barrier that militates against the youths to occupy the elected offices in the country. But what we need to move this country forward is more than age. We need visionary, capable and ready-minded youths who can move the nation forward. Nobody will vote for a contestant whose CV is only based on being young. Someone can be not-too-young-to-run but too foolish to contest.”

“The bills for the amendment have just been received by the State House of Assemblies and work will start on them probably next week. Hopefully in the State of Osun Assembly, we will be able to get the required two third to support the bill.

Hon. Olatunji charged the youths to be positively oriented, move with those that they believe have purpose for their lives and be ready to embrace skills that will develop them.

He commended the organizers of the summit and urged them to keep it up.
