Police in Osun State have recovered corpse of one of suspects who attacked its tactical team conveying murder suspects to Ilesa correctional facility on Wednesday.

InsightMedia reported that three persons were killed as police officers were attacked at Osunjela, a suburb of Osogbo while going to Ilesa.

Public Relations Officer of the command, Yemisi Opalola in a statement today (Thursday) said a corpse has been recovered and deposited at mortuary.

She said bullet wound found on his body, while a paper with incantation written in Yoruba language was found in his pocket.

She said, “This is to inform members of the public that, following the attack on the Police tactical team yesterday 25/08/2021 at Osunjela, along Ilesa/Osogbo road while taking some murder suspects to Ilesa correctional centre, the police in collaboration with the local security outfits; at the wee hour of today 26/08/2021 while combing the bush, for possible arrest of the fleeing suspects, recovered the dead body of one of the attackers in the bush with bullets wounds on his body,

“While searching his body, two live cartridges and a paper with incantation written in Yoruba Language with the names of the perpetrators were found in his pocket.

“His corpse has been evacuated and deposited in the morgue.”
