Over 200,000 All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and youths in Nasarawa State and neighbouring states in the North Central have so raised N10 million to purchase nomination and expression of interest form for ex-Governor Abdullahi Adamu who is aspiring to be the national chairman of the party.

Chairman, council of APC stakeholders in Nasarawa State, Dr Kassim Muh’d Kassim, told journalists yesterday in Lafia that the initiative for raising the money came from youths who want Adamu as the next national chairman of the party.

He said the youths were inspired by Adamu’s establishment of institutions of higher learning in the state during his tenure as governor.

“Few days ago, some stakeholders requested that an account be opened that they have decided to task themselves to make money available for the purchase of APC national Chairmanship nomination form for Senator Adamu,” Kassim, a former member of the State House of Assembly said.

“I thought it was a joke; then suddenly money started coming in and as at today, the said account is ringing N10 million and is still counting

”They said it is their little way of showing appreciation to Adamu for his inspiring leadership for decades and to emphasise their support for his tireless work for the progress of Nigeria and his support for President Buhari which culminated to his anointing by Mr President for the top party job.
