Barcelona have identified Liverpool forward Luis Díaz as a key transfer target this summer as they seek to add depth to their attacking lineup behind Raphinha and rising star Lamine Yamal.
Following a stellar 2024–25 season, in which the Catalan giants clinched a domestic treble capped by a La Liga title secured with a 2-0 victory over Espanyol, the club has shifted focus to squad reinforcement ahead of the new campaign. A celebratory open-top bus parade marked their success, but planning for next season is already well underway.
According to Relevo, Díaz tops Barcelona’s summer wishlist. The Colombian international, under contract at Liverpool until 2027, has yet to agree on an extension, making him a prime target. Though Athletic Club’s Nico Williams is also under consideration, Díaz is reportedly the preferred option. However, the winger’s estimated €80 million (£67m/$89m) price tag presents a challenge, especially in light of Barcelona’s financial constraints. Any potential move would likely depend on player sales to balance the books.
Speaking to ESPN, sporting director Deco emphasized the need for additional attacking options. “We feel very dependent on Raphinha and Lamine,” he said. “Maybe we need similar players.”
Barcelona return to La Liga action on Sunday when they host Villarreal in their penultimate fixture of the season under head coach Hansi Flick.
