A tragic collision on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Oyo State on Tuesday morning has left at least 10 people feared dead.

The crash involved three Nissan Micra taxis and three articulated trucks, all reportedly traveling from the Iwo Road area before the accident occurred.

Rescue teams from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Police, and Amotekun Corps rushed to the scene, where recovery operations are ongoing.

Severely damaged vehicles made the extraction of victims difficult, with mutilated bodies still being recovered at the time of reporting.

The Oyo State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Rosemary Alo, confirmed the crash in Ibadan, stating that seven vehicles were involved in total.

She reported that four people have been confirmed dead, while one injured individual is receiving hospital treatment. Other passengers reportedly escaped unharmed and proceeded to their destinations.

Commander Alo appealed to motorists to exercise caution and follow road safety regulations.

The deceased victims were taken to Adeoyo morgue on Ring Road, Ibadan. One body has already been released to relatives with permission from the Divisional Police Officer of Sanyo Police Station.

The vehicles involved in the crash are now in the custody of Sanyo Police Station, under the supervision of DTO Oluwole Adesina.
