The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has voiced strong concerns over technical issues that reportedly disrupted voting at the Federal Staff Clinic Polling Unit in Gwarinpa, Abuja, during the ongoing FCT election.
According to reports from the polling unit, the accreditation machine malfunctioned, leaving many eligible voters stranded and unable to cast their ballots. The development sparked frustration among residents who had turned out early to participate in the electoral process.
In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the ADC described the situation as a serious case of voter disenfranchisement. The party stressed that elections must be conducted in a manner that is free, fair, transparent, and accessible to all citizens.
The ADC called on electoral authorities to urgently fix or replace the faulty accreditation equipment to ensure that affected voters are given the opportunity to exercise their constitutional rights without further delay.
Reaffirming its stance, the party pledged to safeguard every vote and warned that technical setbacks must not be allowed to undermine the integrity of the democratic process.
