The agent of Erling Haaland has firmly dismissed reports suggesting the Manchester City F.C. striker could be heading to FC Barcelona.

Speaking on Thursday, Haaland’s representative, Rafaela Pimenta, said there has been no contact whatsoever with the Spanish club regarding a potential transfer for the Norwegian forward.

Her remarks came in response to comments made by Barcelona presidential hopeful Victor Font, who recently claimed he was exploring a “preferential option” that could allow the club to sign Haaland if the striker ever decides to leave City.

However, Pimenta played down the speculation, insisting that the player remains happy at the English club and has no plans to leave anytime soon.

She pointed out that Haaland recently signed a long-term contract extension with Manchester City that keeps him at the club until 2034.

“We have great respect and admiration for Barcelona, but there has been absolutely no contact about a transfer,” Pimenta said in an interview with La Sexta. “Erling renewed his contract a few months ago and he is very happy at Manchester City. Everything is going well for him, so there is really nothing to discuss regarding a move.”

Earlier, Font had acknowledged that a transfer would be difficult in the short term but expressed optimism that Barcelona could position itself to sign the striker in the future if he becomes available.

Font is currently contesting the club’s presidential election against the incumbent president, Joan Laporta.

Members of Font’s campaign team reportedly held discussions with senior officials from Manchester City in Madrid on Wednesday. The meeting included City chief executive Ferran Soriano and sporting director Hugo Viana, although sources indicated the encounter was largely a courtesy visit rather than formal transfer negotiations.

Haaland, widely regarded as one of the top strikers in world football, has previously spoken about his admiration for Spain and its football culture. Still, Manchester City are not currently considering any move to sell the prolific forward.
