The United States has secured qualification for the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup following a convincing 2-0 victory over Australia in their Group D encounter at Seattle Stadium.
Backed by a vibrant home crowd, the Americans produced a disciplined and composed performance to seal progression with one group match still remaining.
The breakthrough came in the 11th minute after Australia’s Cameron Burgess inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, handing the hosts an early advantage.
