Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about the important role his wife, Chioma Adeleke, plays in managing his finances, describing her as the person who keeps his spending habits under control.
The award-winning singer made the revelation in a video that has gone viral on social media, where he was seen calling Chioma after experiencing difficulties accessing his bank account while trying to send money to his longtime aide, Lati.
Unable to complete the transaction, Davido asked his wife to transfer $4,000 to his assistant on his behalf.
During the phone conversation, the singer affectionately addressed Chioma, saying, “Hello, baby. Good morning, my wife, my love. Help me send Lati $4,000. I can’t log in because of the network here. We’re taking off to Nigeria now. I love you.”
Moments later, the singer’s official streamer, Davreltv, asked whether Chioma had taken over the responsibility of managing his finances.
Responding with a smile, Davido admitted that his wife now oversees much of his spending because of his tendency to spend impulsively.
“Of course,” he said. “You know I’m a reckless spender. She arranges everything. She’s my life coordinator.”
