Strong indications suggest that Senator Ned Nwoko, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriation (Delta North), is preparing to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Although Nwoko has not officially confirmed his defection, when contacted by Vanguard, he offered a brief response regarding the matter: “soon.”
The senator has been a vocal critic of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and it is believed his shift to the APC may align him with his predecessor, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.
This move is likely driven by Nwoko’s strained relations with PDP leaders in the state. Additionally, sources indicate that Nwoko’s decision could be influenced by the ambitions of the former governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who is reportedly planning a return to the Senate in 2027 under the PDP banner.
