Students of Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic have resumed protests at the institution’s main gate along Sango/Eleyele Road in Ibadan, Oyo State, opposing the recent renaming of the school.

Governor Seyi Makinde had renamed The Polytechnic, Ibadan, after the late former governor, Omololu Olunloyo, who passed away at the age of 89.

Despite warnings from the school’s management urging them to cancel the planned demonstration, a large crowd of students turned out to voice their displeasure and demanded that the governor reverse the decision.

The protest has brought academic and administrative activities to a standstill, while traffic flow on the Sango-Eleyele route has been temporarily disrupted.
