Unknown gunmen have killed a senior lecturer of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State on Friday in Edo state.
Professor Jerome Elusiyan who was the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC), was shot dead during the attack while his driver, the second person in his vehicle sustained gunshot injuries.
It was gathered the don was travelling between Ekpoma and Benin alongside his driver when he was allegedly attacked by gunmen.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of OAUTHC, Mrs Kemi Fasoto confirmed the incident, saying “it is true that Professor Elusiyan was killed by gunmen in Edo State.”
