The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced extension the voting time in the ongoing Anambra governorship election to 4pm as the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) continues to malfunction in some polling units.

The malfunctioning of BVAS has been reported in several polling units across the state, including the unit of APGA governorship candidate, Charles Soludo.

In a statement on Saturday, the commission said the extension applies to areas where polling units were opened after the commencement period of 8:30am.
