Crisis erupted on the campus of Interlink Polytechnic, Ijebu-Jesa on Wednesday following the tragic death of a final year National Diploma Of Mass Communications Department, Adetifa Oluwaseun in a fatal accident.

Sources with the institution said Adeifa got involved in the accident while rushing to pay some mandatory fees at a bank in Ilesa.

The accident involved a Toyota bus with gegistration number FST-644YL and a lady’s bike belonging to the student.

It was gathered that Adeifa died at the spot.

A student said, “After he was not allowed to write exam, he rushed to Ilesa to pay. As he was coming back to write the exam, his bike was involved in accident and he died instantly.”

Aggrieved students invaded the campus and started burning tyres in protest against the school management. They disrupted the ongoing exam and cause tensions across the school environment.

Addressing protesters and students, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Moses Agunsoye called for calm, as security agencies are on top of the situation and promised justice will be served.

However, as of the time of filing this report, the management of Interlink Polytechnic had not yet issued an official statement confirming the incident.
