Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has expressed grief over the death of fellow Nollywood star Alex Ekubo, describing his passing as deeply painful.
The actor reportedly died on Tuesday after battling liver cancer for a prolonged period. He had been rushed to the hospital on Monday and was said to have spent several hours on life support before his death was confirmed.
Reacting to the sad development, Funke took to her Instagram page to pay tribute to the late actor, sharing an emotional message about their friendship.
She wrote that she had made efforts to reach him one last time but was unable to do so. In her tribute, the actress said she would always cherish the memories they shared and remember the good moments they spent together.
Funke ended her message by praying for Alex’s soul to rest in peace, while reflecting on the bond they had built over the years.
