The mother of Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has called on women aged 40 to 60 to embrace TikTok for its positive impact on mental health, urging Gen Z to assist their parents in navigating the platform.

Sharing her personal experience, she revealed that joining TikTok has broadened her outlook, sparking greater creativity in her fashion choices and overall approach to life.

“If your mom is between 40, 50, or 60, encourage them to join TikTok because it really helps mentally. I’m on TikTok now, and I can vouch for it,” she said.

“My mindset has changed—I’m always thinking creatively about what I want to create, how I want to look, and what I want to wear so you can see my style. Let them come and share their life experiences with us. You don’t have to dance like me, but I enjoy dancing!”

She believes TikTok can help older women boost their creativity while sharing valuable life lessons with younger generations.
