The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The forms, valued at N100 million, were officially received on Tuesday in Abuja from the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, who declared the nomination process open at the party’s national secretariat.

Faleke, a close political ally of President Tinubu and founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, was said to have secured and paid for the forms, formally signalling the beginning of preparations for Tinubu’s re-election campaign under the All Progressives Congress.

The development comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission continues preparations for the 2027 general elections. The commission has fixed the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for February 6, 2027.

INEC has also set April 23 to May 30, 2026, as the window for party primaries and resolution of related disputes. Campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections are expected to begin on August 19, 2026, while governorship and state assembly campaigns will commence on September 9, 2026.

Faleke’s move is widely seen as an early and symbolic step in mobilising support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition ahead of the 2027 polls.
