The Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo has affirmed Senator Ademola Adeleke as the authentic candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the forthcoming governorship election.
Justice Nathaniel Emmanuel made the declaration on Wednesday while delivering a ruling in a suit filed by factional candidate of the PDP, Prince Dotun Babayemi.
Babayemi has asked the court to be recognized as the authentic candidate of the Party following the parallel primaries held on March 8.
Some ward executives of the party loyal to the former Chairman, Soji Adagunodo have filed a suit at the court asking the court to recognize their Congress as the authentic Congress of the PDP.
Affirming Adeleke, Justice Emmanuel said only the National Working Committee of any party is empowered to conduct primaries and congresses.
