Nollywood actress Olayinka Solomon, widely known as Ogo Mushin, has opened up about her postpartum struggles, revealing the emotional and physical challenges she faced after giving birth.
Postpartum, the period following childbirth, often brings significant changes for new mothers, and Olayinka’s experience was no exception.
In a candid Instagram post on Wednesday, the Yoruba film star engaged her female followers, encouraging them to share how their lives transformed after childbirth.
Olayinka, who welcomed a baby boy with her husband, Olasunkanmi Mabinuori, in January, shared that she battled anger issues and intermittent memory loss during her postpartum journey.
“Postpartum mum. What changed after childbirth? For me, I get angry over little things and experience memory loss. We can chat now, and the next minute, I don’t remember,” she wrote.
She also disclosed that she experienced increased hunger, stating, “What changed???? I don’t get full… I can eat now, and the next minute, I’m hungry.”
Olayinka, a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry, married Olasunkanmi in 2021. Prior to this, she was married to actor Ibrahim Chatta, with whom she shares a son, Malik. Their marriage ended several years ago amid rumors of domestic violence, which both parties have addressed in various interviews.
Known for her standout performances in films like Ogo Mushin and Omoge Lekki, Olayinka has built a loyal fan base and continues to be a celebrated figure in Nollywood.
Her openness about her postpartum struggles sheds light on the often unspoken challenges many new mothers face.
