Las Vegas has been selected to host the official draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled for December 5, according to multiple reports on Tuesday. The event will take place at The Sphere, a state-of-the-art venue renowned for its advanced technology and 54,000-square-meter LED screen.

The draw will determine the groupings for the expanded 48-team tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. A total of 12 groups, each comprising four teams, will be formed during the ceremony.

This isn’t the first time Las Vegas will stage a World Cup draw. In 1994, when the U.S. previously hosted the tournament, the draw was also held in the city—even though it did not host any matches. That same scenario applies to the 2026 edition, as Las Vegas will not serve as a match venue but has again been chosen to host the prestigious draw.

Reports from ESPN and TUDN Mexico indicate that The Sphere, a 17,500-capacity arena that opened in 2023, was the top choice for the ceremony due to its immersive experience capabilities.
