The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Joash Amupitan, is set to deliver the keynote address at an upcoming stakeholders’ dialogue focused on strengthening Nigeria’s electoral process.

The high-level event, organised by Abuja-based law firm Law Corridor, will take place on April 29, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel.

According to a statement released by the organisers, the policy dialogue will bring together key actors in the electoral space, including political party leaders, civil society groups, and both local and international election observers, to examine pressing issues affecting Nigeria’s electoral system.

A number of prominent legal and media figures are expected to participate in the discussions, including Muyiwa Atoyebi (SAN), Seun Okinbaloye, Bala Maiyaki (SAN), Ahmed Raji (SAN), Patrick Ikwueto (SAN), Alhassan Umar (SAN), Dantele Yusuf, and Bukola Idowu among others.

The organisers said the forum is designed to promote collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders, with a focus on addressing key challenges ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on the importance of the event, Managing Partner of Law Corridor, Henry Kelechukwu Eni-Otu, noted that the timing of the dialogue makes it particularly significant.

“This year’s Policy Dialogue is critical given its proximity to the 2027 general elections. It is important to address pressing issues within Nigeria’s electoral process,” he said.

He added that constructive engagement among stakeholders would help strengthen the credibility and integrity of future elections.

The organisers also revealed that a policy brief containing recommendations and a reform roadmap will be produced at the end of the dialogue and submitted to relevant government agencies.

They recalled that the previous edition of the event featured the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, who led discussions on challenges within the real estate sector.
