Popular TikTok content creator Hamzat Habeeb, widely known as Peller, has triggered widespread reactions on social media after stating that he no longer intends to date or marry a Nigerian woman.

The comment comes in the wake of his recent breakup with fellow content creator Amadou Aminata, popularly called Jarvis. In a video from one of his live sessions that has since gone viral, Peller explained that personal experiences and an interaction he had with a woman from another African country influenced his decision.

Speaking in his characteristic style, Peller said that if he ever chooses to enter another relationship, it would not be with someone from Nigeria. He referenced a country previously visited by American streamer IShowSpeed, recalling a cultural moment where a man was asked how many cows would be required to marry his daughter.

According to him, the woman he encountered there left a strong impression.

He went on to praise her calm nature and soft-spoken manner, qualities he said stood out during their interaction. “The girl was calm and cool,” he said, noting that her composure appealed to him.

Reaffirming his stance, the internet personality insisted that he has ruled out dating Nigerian women going forward, stating that his current mindset has shifted beyond the country.

The remarks have since ignited intense discussions online, with opinions sharply divided. While many social media users criticised Peller for what they described as a sweeping generalisation of Nigerian women, others defended his comments, arguing that personal relationships are a matter of individual preference shaped by personal experiences.

Insightlinks had earlier reported that Jarvis confirmed her breakup with Peller in December, following a troubling incident in which the content creator crashed his Mercedes-Benz on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

In a separate livestream in January, Peller also confirmed the end of the relationship, opening up about the emotional strain it placed on him. He disclosed that he had reached out to Jarvis’ family to apologise for his actions and said he would be focusing on his personal growth in the New Year.

He further revealed that he was intentionally distancing himself from romantic relationships, urging modesty during his livestreams and appealing to female viewers to dress appropriately while interacting with him.
